Things to Do
Resort Hiking Trail Information
RIDGE TRAIL
The Ridge Trail starts at the Del Webb Overlook, which is located at the end of Del Webb Drive. Follow the wooden steps up to the ridge. This is the beginning of the trail, which extends all the way to the ski slopes and is marked by blue trail markers. You can follow the trail all the way to the slopes (4.5 miles) or walk down the Peak Access Road, which intersects the trail at approximately 4.0 miles. The Peak Access Road will take you down to Rainer Road. The recreation staff recommends that you follow the Ridge Trail only about half way or approximately 2 miles to a couple of nice overlooks – then follow the trail back the way you came to the parking area. This way you will not be 4 miles away from your car when the hike is over. Also, there is a section of trail (approximately 2 – 3 miles) that is very rough and overgrown. We recommend that only very experienced hikers take the whole trail to the ski slopes or Peak Access Road.
REMEMBER – ALWAYS TAKE PLENTY OF WATER AND WEAR STURDY SHOES. CAUTION: THE RIDGE TRAIL CAN BECOME VERY STEEP AND ROCKY – IT IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR INEXPERIENCED HIKERS.
KAYLOR’S KNOB (5.0 miles)
The Kaylor’s Knob Trail starts at the Del Webb Overlook, which is located at the end of Del Webb Drive. Once arriving in the parking area, you will see a gate blocking access down the Western Slope to the left. Directly in front of you will be a guardrail. To the right of the guardrail, you will see a trail go over a small hill. This is the start of the Kaylor’s Knob Trail, which extends 2.5 miles to the Kaylor’s Knob Overlook. Blue trail markers designate the trail, and there is a sign at Kaylor’s Knob to let you know that you have reached the end of the trail. To return to the parking area, follow the same trail back.
REMEMBER – ALWAYS TAKE PLENTY OF WATER AND WEAR STURDY SHOES. CAUTION: KAYLOR’S KNOB TRAIL IS STRENUOUS AND IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR ALL HIKERS.
ARBORETUM TRAIL
The Arboretum Trail is a well-kept trail full of flowers and all of nature’s most enjoyed beauties. Fun for children and adults of all ages.
